This Human Portrait in Film is rich beyond gold. A film of hope and light from a seemingly dark, endless place.
It’s like a miracle. I’ve got a son back that I thought I’d lost. We’re probably closer now than we’ve ever been but it did start in a difficult place.
This film is part of the Schizophrenia Series I made a few years ago. Janet’s experience might offer tremendous hope to those in the dark place created by such a rabid condition. Of course, it can be seen as metaphorical and therefore might offer hope to anyone in a seemingly dark, endless and most probably unfathomable place.
I wrote ‘From Unimaginable Depths‘ a while ago. It seems appropriate alongside this film. Have faith.
From Unimaginable Depths
From the unimaginable depths
of human darkness
exists an almost
unintelligible
shard of light.
So vague that it
might remain unseen.
But it’s from such a shard
that hope is born.
And from hope, possibility.
New film next week, and more.
Thank you very much. I am very touched by the insight how important non-judgement is in this situation. I had the image that the community forms a circle, standing around this arising of energy in the form of a mental disfunction. Accepting and transforming it. This 'appearance' in your son woke up such an important set of skills in you. I had the image of a process of to be in labour, as a birth. Also the image: here I am, I have the form of a cactus in the desert. Can you see the light and the love in me? Thank you for this touching.
Well done. Always. Thank you 🙏🏼
