With Liberty and Justice For All
Opportunity is synonymous with freedom and I don’t believe we have a free society until people have a sense of economic empowerment
The Soul of Economic Freedom
I’m making a film focused on Economic Freedom. These are a few fragments of pre-release footage. Two thought provoking minutes. They point to something important. Something systemic. And to the possibility of change.
‘... there’s literally no other way to impact our society at the scale that you can by just investing in entrepreneurs.’
Many possess the entrepreneurial motivation to create better lives and to fix communities from within, but the system prevents them. There is a scarcity of investment, and little support. The system is characterized with bias against most areas outside of the geographic and sector favorites.
Many entrepreneurs who could be central to community change, face poverty.
‘... opportunity is synonymous with freedom and I don’t believe we have a free society until people have that sense of economic empowerment’.
This arena requires a paradigm shift in the way we see everything. The move from a societal architecture of competition and dominance to one of collaboration.
A sea change shift in awareness. This is why I’m interested. I’m working in other arenas where such a change is central to success.
This is the outset of a movement. A quiet revolution of sorts. It’s focused on the United States of America, but the pattern and therefore the possibilities exist elsewhere.
Thanks to Grace and Eric (pictured) who have given everything of themselves in this last decade to this shift, as have an entire (largely unrecognized) sector of entrepreneurial ecosystem builders. I spent time with many of them recently in rural Virginia to gather insight as to how lasting transformation might happen.
More to come soon, including the further release of useful and thought provoking video, most probably on LinkedIn (follow or connect with me to get notification).
What The World Requires Of You
Without Map or Conditions
I few years ago I was interviewed by Preeta, a former General Counsel to Barack Obama in the White House. And Steve, who has made many films delving into the human condition, and things beyond the veil.
It was part of Awakin by Service Space.
This is the recording of that long-form interview.
These 2 minutes were moving and hopeful and it is the ground of why I love your work so very much!
