Like the Experience of Music
Music that fills the atmosphere without any requirement to understand it
Apologies, I’ve been quiet for a few weeks. In the UK teaching Inner View. I’m back now. Brimful of films, words and notions of this and that.
“Might the experience of a photographic portrait be best finding you, not you it? Like the experience of music. Music that fills the atmosphere without any requirement to understand it.”
Full transcript and background here.
I made this three years ago. To me this is important. The words were written about the experience of a photographic portrait but I imagine a few may have noticed how central the words are to the possibility that exists between any two people (and not simply their image). In many ways these words hold the code as to how to see people deeply.
Coaches Rising Podcast
Recently I was on a well know coaching podcast - Coaches Rising - with Joel Monk. It has just been published, and delves into the underneath of the underneath of this Way of Nothing.
During the podcast conducted over Zoom, I suggested that we tried Inner View for a few minutes. It seemed more appropriate than simply speaking about it. Below is an audio excerpt. You will probably need headphones and your imagination, given Joel and I were face to face. It includes some of the prelude, the experience and Joel’s reaction.

1-1 experiences of IV here (longer than a few minutes).
