Dangerous to the Status Quo
Heretical to the quiet, unquestioned belief that we are here to become rather than to remember
Over time, I’ve come to realize that my work is dangerous to the status quo.
It’s antithetical to self-improvement.
Heretical to the quiet, unquestioned belief
that we are here to become —
rather than to remember.
And I’ll admit — that makes me nervous.
But it’s becoming clear:
This isn’t for those still trying to
build a better version of themselves.
It’s for those who are ready to stop.
Not slow down. Not pivot. Stop.
To see that even the most
well-intentioned search is still movement.
Away from what’s already here.
And so …
I re-wrote my website. Perhaps for the seekers who are tired, the achievers who feel empty, the disillusioned who still long for truth, the edge-dwellers who never quite fit on the paths laid out for them, and for the ones life has quietly brought to their knees.
You can see it here.
The Perilous Journey of Becoming Someone
Perhaps I’d always known, even back in the day when I made this 3 minute (supposed) comedy at great risk of being thrown out of (the personal development section of) a book store on Trafalgar Square, London. 2006.
This mad dash through ‘the journey of your life’ is perhaps far deeper than at first it may seem. Pay attention. And blink at your own peril.
‘… so you’re looking for answers but you’re not entirely sure about the questions. But you know you have to become someone. A SOMEONE.’
Features a cameo appearance from film-makers Dog. The film carries a Soul Biographies Health Warning.
Guitar by the fabulous and Academy Award Winning Stephen Wrembel.

Apologies to all those who have read most of the books featured in the film.
An Invitation For Those Exhausted By Personal Development
30 minutes of No-thing, (this) Thursday 17th July at 1pm US Eastern/6pm UK. You are most welcome to join us, and not become anyone.
I quite like your re-done nicaskew.com site. And applause for the courage to state that the presence "your" bodymind brings to being-together has the potential to dissolve inner barriers to wisdom (the wisdom of life, living itself, through you) that is always there.
Thank you for sharing this. Excellent!
